"Mae-me" and "Au-rey" are like peanut butter and jelly... and now that they are both TWO (and boy do they have their "two moments") us mommies have our hands full... we spent Sunday afternoon celebrating one of Jayme's BFF's and meeting her new little brother (slowly, but surely Jayme is getting more used to the idea of her mommy holding another baby that isn't her- JEALOUS much?!)
inseparable trouble.

The past couple months have been jam-packed with lots of firsts (air show, ocean play, snow cone...) events (showers, birthdays, graduation of the last Smith kid), and family time (Sunday Fundays, Mother's Day Zoo trip, Belmont Shore visit, play-dates, etc)... so much so that I failed to even post about Jayme's 2nd birthday!!! Fail. So here is my attempt to play catchup with pictures... in no particular order here we go....
Mother's Day at the San Diego Zoo
highlights: bonding with each aunt and uncle and nana, NO accidents the ENTIRE day (yay for being potty trained by 2!), and an impromptu dinner at In N' Out (she ate her entire cheeseburger meal!)
Belmont with Bebba
never a dull moment in this fam
Chino Air Show with Nana
Play-date at "Mermies"
San Clemente camping... Turns out Nugget is like her Bebba when it comes to the ocean... no fear, and LOVES it! I'm sure she'll be surfing before 5 if Bebba has her way
soakin' up the sun and sand...
Last Smith kid to graduate and that makes three 49ers in the Smith Fam! Go Beach!
no shortage of attention for the Nugget
Baby Shower for the soon-to-be Pessa addition
Father's Day with Great Gramps
Baby Shower for our newest niece-to-be Erin Ann
more cake crafting for soon-to-be cousin Eliza's shower
play-dates with the Browns
Sunday Funday at Oak Glen (can't wait to go during apple picking season in a few weeks!)
I had over 850 pictures to sum up 2 months worth of White Family happenings... but these are the highlights. It was overwhelming to sort through and look back on so many pictures, but that's what I get for procrastinating on updating ;-) Now on to making July memories....
After being cooped up for most of the month of January, it felt great to have a reason to get out of the house... and the incentive of family, friends, football and food was a great excuse to get out. Unfortunately, our little congested nugget couldn't handle Grampa's BBQ for very long (I think this sinus infection of hers has taken up permanent residence in our little girl's nose). I have to say that for being one of the smoggiest cities in California, Riverside has sure surprised us with gorgeous weather every party/BBQ we have had this year!
food, friends, fun, and a full parking lot (driveway and street! annnnd this is the first party that everyone parked accordingly- no one got blocked in, drove over the edge of the driveway, and no fender benders!)
a little congestion didn't keep this snotty-bug down :-)
We all got together on Sunday to celebrate our Gramps' 96th birthday... only 4 more years until triple digits and a massive party (and Lord willing I believe we will get to have a big 100th bash to celebrate)! How many 96 year-olds do you know that still bowl (in a league and WELL... better than me), drive (although this is up for debate if driving past 85-90 should even be permitted... but he still does and has a clean accident/ticket record), and use a cell phone?! After taking care of Grams for several years as she became bed-ridden (which is daunting enough for anyone of any age, let alone a 90 year old)... he still has a spring in his step (a clumsy step sometimes- apparently where I get my klutziness from), a standard Smith family goof-ball sense of humor, and a sharp as a tack noggin to boot! I can only hope I have his genes :-)
from the top: love the faces on all three (left to right-anticipation, concern, and pure joy)... spoiled with ice cream... aunt tay feeding her split pea soup... the birthday boy in becca's hat... bebba having a bad influence on my child
the table next to us decided to sing happy birthday after the entire restaurant sang their version
post lunch family time
time for more birthday celebration (note the same blue candle from the restaurant... we forgot our own candles)
Highlights of this beautiful first October weekend.... seeing childhood friends... seeing 2nd generation friendships beginning... seeing my child's social butterfly personality blossom... church with just the 3 of us (first time by ourselves)... uninterrupted power nap... all 4 siblings reunited... Aunt Tay is back (for good we hope?!)
pint sized ice-cream cone for my pint-sized chocoholic
round 2 on day 2... giving mom the "don't you even take away my ice cream" glare
party highlights... jayme heisting the birthday girl's shiny new vacuum... annnnnd her birthday cake!
the girls made it home safe from their adventure road-trip home from Austin.... lovin' on the nugget
nutella fix.... as if the ice cream wasn't enough she suckered them into spoon feeding her nutella straight from the jar!
Our weekend started Friday night @ 10:30 when we picked up Aunt Tay (whom Nugget now calls TC) from the airport and headed out to Riverside for the weekend... I'm too lazy tired to go into the details, so I'll let the mamarazzi show you how awesome our weekend was...
first kid's menu breakfast... full of chocolate chips... white shorts and no bib = blonde mom move!
where we spent the remainder of our day after breakfast
one little girl might have been a bit spoiled with all the attention
apparently the only thing on Aunt Bebba's agenda was R&R
still a kid at heart
the kid making us our 5 o'clock somewhere beverages
typical Smitty's BBQ
snuggling with her aunt tc
an apple a day keeps the doctor away (and doubles as a teether)
10 hours later... ryan's hard work paid off and our plumeria has a new home
