the gift of an ordinary day...

I spent literally 3 hours writing about something important to me, only to have blogger not save my hours of work... and even though I copied and pasted onto Word, it reverted back to my original save with only one picture and sentence.... (that was last week, and I haven't been in the mood to try again until all the harassment for pictures and updates- ahhhhem Alex) soooooo let's try this again... except I'm still not in the mood to pour my heart out, so I'll warm up to blogging again with some mamarazzi moments

mamarazzi is back to capture the moments that are the blessings of my life:
the day my little girl looked like a boy... according to everyone at the park (even though that's PINK and brown and PINK crocs... not to mention pierced ears and a bitty baby doll... hhhhhhhh)
helping Bebba wash her car

favorite quick capture of the day... going to frame this!

she thinks she's a big kid

apparently the days of swinging solo are gone... she's obsessed

almond butter and jelly.... mmmmm good...

"long-awaited good news" roses will make any girl's Friday afternoon fantastic

what happens when I leave her alone for 30 seconds- discovering mom's craft goodies... "hey mom, which headband do you prefer???"... "is this the right sunblock???" ... someone found her mani/pedi kit (and figured out what to do with it!)

sass-a-frass

wanna see my "beh-buttn"???

Nano dinner visit
homemade deliciousness...
giiiinormous spider I finally caught after 2 weeks hanging around the tree in our back yard

last but not least... my most favorite picture this week. she melts my heart.

Tid bit Tuesday...

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to tell yourself 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you cannot do."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Just thought I'd share this inspirational quote my sister shared with me while tackling a challenge I found to be too unnerving for me... these words have become my daily inspiration to tackle the challenges and seemingly impossible situations that are life. Happy Tuesday!

Lions, Cheetahs and beer... oh my!

We planned a trip to the Wild Animal Park with UB4 (Uncle Benny-Benny-Boo-Bear)... as we were packing up the car Aunt Bebba (formerly Uncle Buck) called to say it was pouring rain and hail in HB, so she cut her surf short and headed our way to join our trip to the Wild Animal Park... a major car fire, more traffic and an hour later- she arrived, we swapped out cars (free gas paid for by work- yes please!) and we were off to meet up with UB4. Thank God for the beautiful weather in SD... we couldn't have asked for better weather 75+ clear blue skies... and the best part was the lack of a crowd (and the fact that we all almost all got in free- thanks to a lenient membership check UB4 was "Sean" for a day and Aunt Bebba bought an annual pass for $30 more than admission so she can join our impromptu trips to the zoo)
"Ummmm guys??? Are we gonna go or what? I don't have all day!" (poor quality = phone pic)

SPF- check. Fed and hydrated- check. Baby with baby- check.  Let's roll!
Only in So Cal... normal people would probably wear walking shoes... we are far from the norm apparently

geared up
UB4

Auntie Bebba
cheers to 3 over-priced beers (and a minimal crowd on a beautiful day)!

such a MMM look!

"I think if we go this way we will find the Gorillas, dad..."

stink face measuring her hand against a Gorilla hand

that baby may as well be her best friend... she goes everywhere.

fascinating animals to watch for hours... thanks to Jayme, we didn't last "hours"... more like 15 minutes

we probably could have left the boys there all day!

on to the safari tram
Jayme loved the ride, despite the look of boredom captured here

MMM hat in full force

rough life

yeaaaaaa... that's a cheetah following a dog
watching the cheetah run with her daddy

way too fast to capture the actual run with people in the way, but how crazy are these best pals?! apparently they use domestic dogs to help "train" the cheetahs

After the cheetah run, we headed back to the car... but not to go home. Next stop- Stone Brewery... I didn't take any pictures here because my child decided that this was the perfect place to begin throwing tantrums (in front of a packed restaurant and bar)... When positive mind positive result doesn't work, Becca suggested DB (drink beer)... too bad neither worked and Jayme and I ended back at the car to wait for the others to finish their beer. We dropped off UB4, finally found a Cheveron (long story), got Bebba some asprin, and somewhere around 9:00 decided we should stop for dinner...

Fudruckers... a last minute impulse (what you don't see is Jayme passed out in her stroller)

"dinner now??? it's after 9:30... really Bebba????"
10:something ... home sweet home... opps forgot to feed the Nugget! After a quick bowl of lima beans (yeah our kid LOVES lima beans... weirdo), some yogurt, and cheese, she passed out for the night.

Baby Hercules

Jayme wanted to show Nonnie, Nanno, and her daddy just how strong she is.... she picked up the weights one at a time and carried them across the room as if they were a light toy. Of course I had to encourage her to do it once more for video memories sake ;-)

Laborless Labor Day weekend...

A must when visiting California

Nonnie was so into her Double-Double, she didn't even notice the mamarazzi

Daddy was generous enough to share his chocolate shake (mommy was not ;-)
good thing about a 45 minute drive to church... perfect time to get a nap in
Nugget loves Chloe... and Uncle Alex

3 years later our red plumeria finally bloomed... guess Riverside is the ideal climate?

this little Nugget loves the pool (and looks just like her Nana Quinn in this picture)

3 nights of no sleep (courtesy of camping on a flat/noisy air matress with a teething baby)... I suppose a nap at Grandpa's is allowed
