first steps...

for the past couple weeks i've had the camera ready, but of course jayme refuses to perform when the camera is out! today she walked (like a drunk person) from the couch to the tv stand (while my camera was charging-ugh!)... so after dinner and being over-served at the milk bar... this is what i was able to capture:

hopefully after a full night's rest and a fresh start tomorrow we will get better footage!

anniversary weekend...

we packed up the car, the kid, and the sunblock and headed to san diego for our first family zoo trip (cheap fun way to spend our 6th anniversary)... first we picked up ub4 (uncle benny benny boo bear) in fallbrook... next stop- sand diego zoo (courtesy of our annual passes from ub4 and family!)... the weather was gorgeous, jayme was in a great mood.... the only bummer- lethargic animals! even the monkeys were lazy/sleeping!

thank goodness this was the end of the day and for baby wipes (and ub4's family pool after the zoo)

summer days...

its been a while since jayme and i have had a "normal" stay-at-home kinda day (really the term "stay-at-home-mom" doesn't always seem a fitting title)... after our costco run i decided it was hot enough to enjoy our new pool (and the fact ryan and i used up every last bit of lung capacity the night before to fill the darn thing- note a pump will be a good future investment- i wasn't about to let it sit in the yard just to look pretty!)... we took her favorite snack (watermelon wedges) and soaked up the sun for over an hour until the lil princess was ready for her beauty sleep (mom break nap)

my dad thought this was hilarious (glad we both have stellar lung capacity!)

weekend wrap-up...

i was feeling anxious about my first overnight away from my baby girl, but the fact i am married to the most awesome man (who let me plan a bachelorette weekend on his father's day weekend!) helped ease my anxiety. ryan took the nugget down to the wild animal park with uncle buck and uncle reed and her new friend ava (courtesy of passes uncle benny benny boo bear gave us for her birthday)... meanwhile i had the entire day to myself to put together finishing touches (i.e. procrastinate to the last minute on creating bachelorette decor and monogrammed wine glass favors ;-) then it was off to the island hotel in newport for calista's bachelorette weekend!

sunday was a quiet father's day complete with family nap time... no frills or pictures to capture the day

First Birthday!

 We couldn't have asked for a better first birthday for our lil' bug! It was a beautiful day, filled with beautiful moments... including a surprise visit from Aunt Tay! We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends who made time to come celebrate with us on a busy Memorial Weekend...
